  • 10oz marshmallows
  • 5oz puffed rice
  • 2 tbsp matcha green tea powder
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • Few drops green food coloring
  • 1 bag M&M’s


  • Heavy-bottomed pan


  • In a large, heavy-bottomed pan, melt the butter over medium-low heat. Add marshmallows and gently melt over low heat. When marshmallows have completely melted, stir in puffed rice, matcha green tea powder, and green food coloring.

  • Give it a good stir and remove from the heat. Let the mixture cool for a while and then shape Grinch heads. Use M&M’s to create eyes and optionally some other food coloring to draw mouth, nose, and eyebrows.

  • Cool completely before serving.

Beautiful marshmallow matcha Grinch cookies are an excellent idea to get creative and prepare something entirely different and exciting this year. These crunchy treats are very easy to prepare and require 6 simple ingredients and a large cooking pan to mix everything together.


Adding some matcha green tea powder along with just a few drops of green food coloring will enhance the color and add a lovely twist to this fabulous dessert your kids will adore.

When it comes to drawing Grinch face features, you can use different colors, add some M&M’s to create eyes, or add anything else you think would look good – the options are endless and the only rule is to have as much fun as possible.
