Homemade Gluten-Free Cacao Granola

Homemade Gluten-Free Cacao Granola

A perfect morning starts with a bowl of chocolate granola and served with warm milk, wouldn’t you agree?
Although granola is considered as one of the healthiest breakfast options you can have, most of those store-bought packs usually contain some unnecessary additives and other ingredients you probably wish to avoid. Making your own, homemade granola is the only way to know for sure what’s inside. And, when you have an extremely simple recipe to prepare, there is really no reason at all to go to the store ever again.

This gluten-free chocolate granola is based on a pure, organic Zen Spirit cacao powder and different nuts and seeds. All you have to do is add everything to a food processor and process until the desired consistency. For a crunchier option, chop some of the nuts with your knife and add to the processed mixture. You can also add a handful of cashews or gluten-free oats. Different dried fruit is also an excellent idea to prepare your granola but if using them, make sure to reduce the amount of sugar. Simply, taste the mixture before baking it and adjust according to taste.

Homemade granola takes about 15-20 minutes of baking time but you might want to check it every once in a while to prevent the edges from burning. You just have to dry the mixture out until nicely firm and crispy. When done, remove from the oven and crumble with your hands. Store in glass jars with air-tight containers.
