Everybody loves delicious truffles coated with some milk chocolate and sprinkled with nuts. If you’re a fan of truffles as well, then you’ll love this recipe that includes healthy chia seeds, rich chocolate, and crispy nuts. They are relatively easy to prepare and can be a fantastic New Year’s treat for the entire family! Furthermore, you can arrange them on a plate alone or serve in mini ice cream cones for easier handling.
When preparing your chocolate chia truffles, the best way to start is to melt your chocolate in a small saucepan over low heat.
Once the chocolate has melted, stir in some butter and continue to cook until completely melted. You can also use some coconut oil instead of butter. Adding some form of fat will give you a rich flavor of melted chocolate you can easily shape into balls later. Three tablespoons of Zen Spirit chia seeds will give these truffles a delicious touch and boost some nutrients as well.
Finally, coat each chocolate ball into some more melted milk (or dark) chocolate and generously sprinkle with chopped nuts such as almonds or pistachios. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Enjoy!
