Ingredients

  • 6oz baking chocolate
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • ¼ cup heavy whipping cream
  • 3 tbsp Zen Spirit chia seeds
  • Melted chocolate, for coating
  • Chopped nuts (optional)
  • Mini ice cream cones (optional)

  • Parchment paper
  • Saucepan
  • Mixing bowl

DIRECTIONS

  • Add chocolate to a small saucepan and melt over low heat. Stir in butter and cook for a couple of minutes or until the butter has completely melted. Stir constantly.

  • Transfer the mixture to a medium bowl and add heavy whipping cream. Stir in chia seeds and refrigerate for 30 minutes or until the mixture is firm enough to shape.

  • Meanwhile, line a baking sheet with some parchment paper.

  • When the mixture is ready, remove from the refrigerator and shape balls. Arrange balls over the prepared baking sheet and freeze for 30 minutes.

  • Dip each ball into melted chocolate and top with chopped nuts. Optionally, serve in mini ice cream cones. Enjoy!

Once the chocolate has melted, stir in some butter and continue to cook until completely melted. You can also use some coconut oil instead of butter. Adding some form of fat will give you a rich flavor of melted chocolate you can easily shape into balls later. Three tablespoons of Zen Spirit chia seeds will give these truffles a delicious touch and boost some nutrients as well.

Finally, coat each chocolate ball into some more melted milk (or dark) chocolate and generously sprinkle with chopped nuts such as almonds or pistachios. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Enjoy!
