  • ½ cup self-rising flour
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup Zen Spirit cacao powder
  • ¼ cup chocolate chips, plus more 2 tbsp - optionally
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

    Add all ingredients to a medium bowl. Using a hand mixer, beat on medium-high speed until completely smooth.

    Divide the mixture between 2 large mugs (or 4 smaller ones).

    Optionally, add about one tablespoon of chocolate chips in the middle of each mug for a double chocolate flavor.

This easy recipe requires a couple of simple ingredients you probably already have laying around. The preparation method is also extremely simple and perfect for those days when you don’t have a lot of time to prepare a wonderful dessert.

Cacao Mug Cake Servings

You simply have to combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix everything for a couple of minutes and microwave everything for about 1-2 minutes. This particular recipe will give you 2 large mug cakes or you can divide the batter between 4 medium-small ones (which is still just enough for one serving).

We have decided to add about a tablespoon of extra chocolate chips in the middle of the mug cake for some extra chocolate flavor. You can skip that part or you can even add a layer of blueberries, raspberries, or some other fruit of choice.

Finally, decorate your mug cake with some coconut chips, cocoa nibs, or sprinkle with finely chopped nuts. Enjoy!
