This simple and refreshing dessert is a wonderful summer idea for the entire family. It’s a combination of deliciously chilled chocolate and vanilla layers topped with tender ice cream that simply melts in your mouth. And to make things even better, this fantastic dessert is served with some crushed cookies and frozen fruit for the best possible flavor.
Preparing this cacao ice cream parfait is really simple and shouldn’t take more than ten minutes of actual work.
I like to combine both – heavy and whipping cream for the light and fluffy texture I want to see in my ice cream parfait. Then, I add some vanilla extract to the entire mixture to create a wonderful base for both ice cream flavors – about two teaspoons should do the job. Now, you simply have to divide your vanilla base between two bowls. Reserve one as your vanilla layer and add some melted chocolate and Zen Spirit cacao powder to another one to get a nice chocolate ice cream everybody loves.
After you have created layers in your serving glasses, freeze the remaining mixture for at least 2 hours (up to 4, depending on your freezer) to get lovely scoops of ice cream you can serve over your parfait. Decorate with some cookies of choice and serve with fresh or frozen fruit. Finally, drizzle everything with a good amount of chocolate sauce for even better results and enjoy!
